Call for Posters

*** New in 2026 ***

For the first time, we invite you to submit a poster for SINR 2026. We welcome a limited number of posters that are related to neuropsychological rehabilitation, and we are especially interested in posters that reflect this year’s theme of Rehabilitation of Identity after Brain Injury.

Poster categories:

  • Clinical cases of neuropsychological rehabilitation. Cases may represent a variety of approaches to addressing identity in rehabilitation and should include a case formulation, goals, models used, and outcomes (whether positive or negative). They may include clinical conundrums and questions raised for later discussion.
  • Novel proposals to the topic of identity in neuropsychological rehabilitation. These may include proposals on work you are doing. Include the specific questions you have and the feedback you are hoping to get.

  • Training curricula in neuropsychological rehabilitation, especially as they relate to identity. Include details such as modules to be taught, reading lists, topics, clinical supervision, etc.
  • Qualitative analysis of interviews or focus groups
  • A thoughtful literature review with themes related to identity
  • Theoretical considerations for identity decomposition and reconstruction
  • The role of cultural and diversity factors in identity changes and reformation
  • Facilitators and impediments to identity reformation/redefinition
  • New ideas for clinical service delivery of neuropsychological rehabilitation that you want to discuss and receive feedback from other attendees and SINR faculty
  • The role of psychotherapy and psychiatry in addressing identity
  • The role of other neurorehabilitation interventions and modalities in addressing identity
  • Related concepts to identity (for example):
    – sense of self
    – role changes and reversals
    – grief and loss
    – narcissistic injury
    – resiliency
    – values and meaning
    – role of aphasia and other communication challenges
    – role of physical and functional challenges
    – role of social and societal challenges
  • The role of caregivers and community supports and resources in influencing identity crises and reconstruction
  • Potential new innovations in the area of identity
  • Other interesting considerations/topics related to identity

WHO?

We welcome poster submissions from everyone who wishes to attend SINR 2026. We will provide additional details such as poster size in the next few months. We hope for submissions from many disciplines including neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, and any other relevant health professions.

WHERE AND WHEN?

Posters will be displayed in the conference venue from lunch through end of day on Wednesday and Thursday. Half of the posters will be presented each day. Poster owners will need to be with their posters from 12:30-1:00 pm and during the afternoon break on the day that their posters are up.

WHY?

Your posters will enrich the SINR experience, both for you as you plan, prepare, and get feedback from others in the SINR community as well as for all attendees to have the opportunity to engage with poster presenters and gain new ideas and connections. For all of us, the posters will expand our thinking about identity and other topics related to neuropsychological rehabilitation after brain injury and will allow us collectively to have a deeper dive into this topic during our end-of-day group discussions.

Professionally, a poster presentation may help you obtain funding for the meeting and will be a great addition to your resume. And perhaps best of all, once your poster is accepted, you will be entitled to up to three consultations regarding the content of your poster via phone or virtually with one of the SINR faculty, up to two weeks prior to the conference.

HOW?

Please send a 500-word abstract to our Poster Committee Chair, Lucy Wall at lmwall@mednet.ucla.edu by March 1, 2026. If you choose to prepare a case study, this deadline will give you time to prepare the course of rehabilitation and be well on your way with it. Given the scope of possible topics, the structure or organization of the poster is flexible, but the SINR faculty may have suggestions or recommendations based on initial review of your submission.

Notifications will be sent out by April 1, 2026.

Presenters are expected to register and attend the SINR 2026 conference and are responsible for their own costs. Abstracts will be rated on scientific merit, relevance, breadth of audience interest, and quality.

For questions, please contact Lucy Wall at lmwall@mednet.ucla.edu
